
Yesterday, the twelfth of December in the classroom 224 of ZNU academic building №2, students of the Faculty of Law took part in a video conference with a world-renowned scholar, lecturer of the University of Oxford, Dr. Jeffery West. Via Skype connection, future lawyers attended a fascinating lecture from academic’s authorial course "Importance of critical thinking for lawyers".
Commenting on the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Tetyana Kolomoyets stressed the convenience and relevance of interactive forms of educational process in the context of challenges of the modern world. «Our students had a unique opportunity to communicate with an interesting person, experienced lawyer, well-known scientist Jeffery West. Due to the use of modern information technology, they listened to the report of the famous lawyer, who would help them develop the skills necessary for the legal profession. Besides, he chose the dialogue mode for discussion, therefore, all students were able to join the conversation. Although the lecture was accompanied by interpretation, it wasn’t synchronous and permanent. So, the students had the opportunity to practice the English language. Thus, the youth got a double benefit from participation in the event, having learned a lot of new and interesting things and checking their English skills», the Dean pointed.
In addition, Tetyana Kolomoyets emphasized that such online lectures with professors from leading national and foreign universities will continue to remain a relevant form of work with students.
