
On December 19-20 in Kyiv took place the International conference-workshop: «Fact-checking: international experience and Ukrainian problems», which was the result of training from the experts Stopfake.org and the contest of journalistic materials. There are two students of the Faculty of Journalism of Zaporizhzhya National University among the winners.
The organizers of the competition «Сheckregion-ua.info» received 34 works from all over Ukraine, 4 of which were from Zaporizhzhya. Works of the fourth year students of the Faculty of Journalism of Zaporizhzhya National University entered the top five: Kostyantyn Tsentsura took the third place, and Kristina Sobko – the fifth. The analysis of Oleksandr Vilkul’s words brought them the medal places. In addition, the workshop participants had the opportunity to practice their skills of fact-checking together with known experts. Досвідом поділилися Oleksandr Horokhovskyy, editor-in-chief Factcheck.com.ua, and Zdeněk Jirsa, manager of Czech fact-checking project Demagog.cz, shared their experience.
As a matter of interest, in Ukraine mainly journalists work at fact-checking, while in the Czech Republic – students-political analysts, economists, sociologists. They do it on a voluntary basis, and journalists use these results.
