
Recently, a workshop on the use of the Methodology for the external independent evaluation of the processes of ensuring the quality of legal education was held in Odessa. Its organizers were the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the international experts on legal education of the USAID "New Justice" Program.
The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize with the methodology of external independent assessment of the processes of ensuring the quality of legal education in Ukraine, developed in accordance with the European standards and quality assurance guidelines in the European Higher Education Area (2015). The participants learned about the international experience and best practices in the functioning and evaluation of law schools. They were also provided with an analysis of the results of the three exercises conducted using the Assessment Methodology in the higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The guests discussed the the priorities of this Methodology implementation.
The representatives of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Yaroslav the Wise National Law University, National University "Odessa Law Academy", Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and many other (more than 40) universities of Ukraine took part in the event.
The Zaporizhzhya National University was represented at the seminar by the Candidate of Juridical Sciences, lecturer of the Department of Administrative and Commercial Law Shabinem Hadzhyieva. During two days the participants of the workshop were able to communicate with Ruslan Hurak, the Head of the State Inspectorate of Educational Institutions, member of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Ivan Nazarov, member of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Oleksandr Pyzhov, Chief Specialist of the Department of Regulation of Higher Education in Ukraine, as well as with David Vaughn, Manager of the USAID "New Justice" Program and the international experts of this Program.
During two days, the participants of the event listened to lectures, worked in small groups on the application of the elements of the Methodology, solved the problem issues of the three evaluations carried out as an experiment in higher educational establishments of Ukraine, developed evaluation models adapted to the specifics of the evaluation of educational processes in different Ukrainian higher educational institutions, which provide teaching in the specialty 081 "Law".
According to Shabinem Hadzhyieva, during the seminar, its participants got a lot of useful information, gained new experience, and also expanded the geography of professional international cooperation.
