Students and lecturers of the faculty of journalism shared their experience with representatives of other universities who arrived to ZNU to take part in the 2-nd International scientific-practical conference “Associating students’ journalism: from study to professional development”. We shall remind that ZNU has a powerful media-structure: press-centre, student radio-station “Universe” and TV-studio “Universe”, the regional academic newspaper “Zaporizhzhya University”, student magazine “Dziga”, the newspaper of hostels “The 9-th store” and the newspaper of scientific student union “Scientists”.
On May 13 started the conference which gathered representatives from 55 universities and colleges from 24 regions of Ukraine and also honoured experts in the field of journalism and international academic interchange: the president of Association of youth media of Ukraine Glib Golovchenko, the co-ordinator of programs of Fulbright in Ukraine Vava Bachinska, journalist, expert of American mass-media Bogdan Godyak, manager of TV channel Lidiya Pavlova.
The organizers prepared an intensive program for participants of the conference. So, students had an opportunity not only to speak to each other and to share experience but also to visit interesting trainings and classes of professionals. After that participants of the conference worked in sectional sessions. They discussed questions of role of student journalism in professional growth of a journalist; stylistic, genre and technological peculiarities of student editions, thematic peculiarities and development of student mass-media, Chernobyl journalism and Internet-Journalism in context of student mass-media.
