The historic faculty of Zaporizhzhya national university became the base for All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference “Oral history in scientific researches”. It became the result of almost annual activity of the Institute of oral history, which functions in our university.
Near 50 scientists from Pereyaslav, Dnipropetrovs’k, Kherson, Odessa, Dniprodzerzhins’k and other cities gathered to discuss problems and prospects the development of the unique method of historic explorations. During the conference was stressed, that oral history is always alternative to the official one. The guests conducted not only intensive sectional work, but also had interesting cultural program, in particular, excursion to the isle Khortitsya. In the plans of the historic faculty and Institute of oral history of ZNU is intensive work in this direction and editing till the end of 2008 of several volumes of 10-band assembly of the oral history of the step Ukraine.
