On the basis of the Khortytska National Academy, a regular training session was held from representatives of the ZNU for representatives of gifted youth - participants of the Summer School of the Minor Academy of Sciences. The event on the topic "Work with information and fact checking" was held by Associate Professor of the editing and publishing department Natalia Tyapkina and Associate Professor of the theory of communication, advertising and public relations department Lyudmila Chernyavska.

Pupils from Zaporizhzhia schools received information about the rules of quality media consumption. Also, during their classes, they developed skills for verifying information. So, students learned about Ukraine's fact checking resources and tools for verifying information.

The teachers of the ZNU faculty of journalism told the students about the types of propaganda texts and their markers of identification. In addition, within the framework of the training, the participants of the Summer School learned to correctly perceive the current information and determine its authenticity. In turn, these skills will in the future enhance their media literacy and facilitate their successful career, whatever profession they have chosen in adult life.

Moreover, those media education activities are among the priorities of the ZNU Faculty of Journalism. This year, teachers and students of the faculty held a series of meetings and trainings for high school students and teachers from Zaporizhzhia schools on media literacy, including fact checking.
