In the decisive race, our team started quite confidently and the first 500-meter mark was passed in the status of the leader where the competition was made by the teams from Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Italy and Poland. On the second stretch, the Italian team got ahead.

Our guys, meanwhile, was fighting for the second place with the Netherlands team. Ukrainian team was the third who crosses the mark of 1000 meters. The next 500 meters made the Ukrainian fans feel nervous as while Italy and the Netherlands were ahead, the rest of the crews moved as close as possible.  On the finish line, the Italians came first, and Australian team was the second one. Ukrainian team was sixth at that time, but they succeeded to demonstrate incredible willpower and the desire for victory as for 250 meters to the finish they have already became the fourth, and fought for the third position.  There was quite exciting finish because our four athletes Dmytro Mykhal, Serhii Hryn, Oleksandr Nadtoka ta Ivan Dovhodko managed to win the bronze with a result of 05: 37.280. Italian team (05: 35.310) got the gold and Australia (05: 36.510) won the silver.

It should be mentioned that this is the fifth medal of the world championships for Oleksandr Nadtoka.
