Recently in Zaporizhzhia, the training "Overcoming Traumatic and Stressful Situations" was held with the psychologist Jackie Garlock (Illinois Cоllaboration On Youth, Chicago, USA), which was organized by Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Center, in which students from the College of Commerce of various training courses took part.
Participants were working in the groups and were identifying the areas of life where stressful situations can arise. After that, the students proposed situations that are most stressful in the field of education, professional activity, and in the family, through brainstorming way. Jackie Garlock told the audience about the features of the reaction of the human body to a stressful situation; there can happen aggression, anxiety, shock.
The peculiarities of the influence of stress on the body, thoughts, feelings and actions of a person were discussed together with students.
Jackie Garlock told the participants how to deal effectively with stress and traumatic situations. Moreover, one of the situations that was proposed by the participants (the uncertainty of their own professional future) was analyzed during the training.
During the coffee break, the participants had the opportunity to talk with the coach, ask those questions that most worried them, and also make photos with Jackie for a memory.
