A meeting of students and professors who are the participants of advanced training courses with a specialist of the Press, Education and Culture Department of the US Embassy in Ukraine Vira Maksymova was held in the Faculty of Foreign Philology of ZNU on October 29. This meeting took place in the framework of the American-Ukrainian project "Laboratory of American English".

During the event, participants of the trainings which were held on the basis of ZNU within the framework of this project from June 22 to September 30 received the certificates of advanced training. They also shared their impressions of participating in trainings, mentioning the importance of continuing this form of work to gain knowledge, practical skills and abilities and their use in further work with students and students. A representative of the Embassy could visually see the new interactive educational capabilities of the laboratory, new equipment and new shutters with a map and graphic image of the historical stages of the development of the United States.

During the meeting, Vira Maksymova spoke about the grant and educational exchange programs of the US Embassy, explaining all the nuances regarding participation, selection and testing, funding, etc. In her opinion, participation in such exchange programs expands the perception of the world and becomes a powerful impetus for self-development.

Furthermore, participants of the meeting had the opportunity to learn about the peculiarities of the activities of American cultural centers in Ukraine, which are located in the regional cities of our country (there are 28 of them).

In addition, the following programs were presented: Democracy Commission (for non-governmental organizations), Media Development Fund, US Government Education and Culture Small Grants Program, book translation program, Ambassadors Fund, Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) -  high-school students, an exchange program for university students (Global UGRAD), a Fulbright office program in Ukraine, Education USA Network Counseling Centers. Programs such as the “Open World” Program, the IVLP Program, Professional Fellows Program (LFP/PFP), Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program were noted among the professional exchanges programs.
