The 1st Ukrainian-Polish International Web Conference «Language, culture, communication the expanding intellectual space» was held in ZNU
The 1st Young Researchers’ International Web Conference «Language, Culture, Communication the Expanding Intellectual Space» was held at the Faculty of Foreign Philology on March 20, 2019. Organized by Zaporizhzhia National University, Polonia University (Czestochowa, Poland) and Lviv State University of Life Safety, it was a successful startup of collaboration between ZNU, other Ukrainian and Polish Universities. The Conference welcomed over 60 participants from various regions of Ukraine:Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, Kharkiv National Agrarian University named after V. V. Dokuchaiev, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, among them.
The Conference enjoyed the support of the Dean, Halyna Moroshkina, the teaching staff and the students of the Faculty of Foreign Philology. The event was moderated by Tetyana Kozlova, Dr. Sc.,Assoc. Prof., Prof. of the English Philology Department, ZNU, in cooperation with Oksana Babelyuk,Dr. Sc., Prof. of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of Lviv State University of Life Safety.
The Head of the Organizing Committee Andrzej Krynski, Ks., Prof., Dr Hab. Dr c., Rector of Polonia University in Częstochowa, and Vasyl Karabyn, the Director of Educational-Scientific Institute of Psychology and Social Protection, Lviv State University of Life Safety opened the conference online. They congratulated the participants, wished them fruitful work, and also emphasized the importance of the issues under the conference discussion by saying that language and culture form the basis of life and civilization in the contemporary world. In addition to that, Andrzej Krynski stated that the conference language, English, is the language of international communication.
Andrzej Krynski was pleased to thank all the students, who participated in the event, for their research and social activity. The Rector of Polonia University in Częstochowa also expressed his gratitude to Tetyana Kozlova and Oksana Babelyuk for their initiative and assistance in organizing the event. Andrzej Krynski called all the participants of the conference for further cooperation with Polonia University, and encouraged the Ukrainian students to pay a visit Poland and become participants in theDouble-Studies Program.
Kateryna Vasylyna, the Deputy Dean for studies of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, and Tetyana Kozlova, the professor of the English Philology Department, introduced Zaporizhzhia National University. In their speeches, they noted that Ukrainian scientists share European values and strive for integration into the global educational space. They thanked all the participants of the conference and wished them fruitful work.
