There was a photojournalism workshop which was organized in ZNU by American photographer Brendan Hoffman
On March 21, Kateryna Dotsenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, offered to hold a joint workshop with American journalists Brendan Hoffman and Rene Hickman. The famous photographer in Zaporizhzhia Borys Dvornyi and his students also joined this event.
Brendan Hoffman shared his shooting experience in various troubled parts of the world, and answered numerous questions about the shooting technique. American photographer has a great experience. From 2007 to 2013 he lived in Washington and often worked as a photographer in Congress and the White House. In addition, Brendan collaborates with world publications of various orientations - The New York Times, National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Getty Images, The Washington Post, Newsweek, NPR, Al Jazeera, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, - that is why he can share the experience of filming in different ways. He
photographed in more than 20 countries of the world and has a huge reserve of work.
Many questions were about the ethics of photography - how appropriate it is to shoot a war or a tragedy, what you can show, and what remains behind the scenes. In addition, students were interested in the details of the process of photographing. It was interesting to find out why all the photos of the author are colored. “Our world is colorful, and I see myself in it in this way,” - was the answer of the artist.
