At Zaporizhizhya National University the round-table discussion “Myths of ecology: transgenic organisms” has passed. The organizer of this already traditional for our university action became Scientific student’s association of the Faculty of Biology.
Participants of the conference have touched upon the problem of influences transgenic products on person’s organism, coverage of this problem in mass-media, and also legislative aspect of genetically modified organisms (GMО) intrusion. Zogik Mazmanyan, the student of the Faculty of Law; Natalya Dudareva, Sergiy Yanko, Angelina Chemerys, representatives of the Faculty of Biology; Tetyana Dranitsyna, the student of the Faculty of Social Pedagogics and Psychology, future journalist Mariya Kopchynska were rewarded for active participation in the action.
The initiative of the students was supported by teachers of the Faculty of Biology: Lyudmyla Omelyanchyk, the Dean, and Victor Lyakh, Valentina Bovt. There also was present Natalya Gorpynich, the director of monitoring sector in the Government of habitat protection.
Also during the conference they summarized photo competition “Zaporizhzhya in eyes of ecologists”. The first place was gained by the student of the Faculty of SPP Juliya Yulayeva, the second place - Igor Samokish, the representative of the Faculty of Journalism, Sergiy Yanko and Angelina Chemerys, the students of the Faculty of Biology; the third place - Alexandr Stozhko, the student of the Faculty of Biology, Pan Syu Tao, the future philologist, Yana Radchuk, the Faculty of Sociology and Management, Jury Shlyapin, the Faculty of Economics. The best works will be placed on the official site of Scientific student’s association.
