On December 2-4, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv again hosted the training for participants of the Erasmus + KA2 DESTIN project, including three teachers ZNU Faculty of Journalism: Dean Viktor Kostiuk, Deputy Dean for International Affairs Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova and Associate Professor of Journalism Iurii Kostiuk. Participants learned the basics of writing program descriptors, syllabi and methods of self-assessment of study programs in journalism.
During the three-day training session, teachers participated in panel discussions, reported on their own work, discussed follow-up strategies and learned how to write study programs and module descriptors at the training lead by Irish trainer David Quinn (Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin).
On the first training day, participants were introduced to the criteria of successful program design: structure and content, goals, program learning outcomes, assessment methods, facilities, human factor, accessibility and more. The trainer stressed that an important component of a successful learning process is the contact between a teacher and students that should be accompanied by mutual respect, interest to a disciplines and two-way feedback.
The second half of the panel was devoted to working on SWOT-analysis and learning the principles of writing module descriptors (a brief one-page description of a course content).
In the following days, the participants of the Erasmus + KA2 DESTIN project discussed the changes that have already been made to their study programs and those that they plan to implement, as well as plans and further tasks for working on the project.
