Video meeting "Nearness in Times of Distance" took place, during which representatives of Universities in five countries shared their professional and personal experiences on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine. All participants of the event are long-term partners of Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU).
The meeting was coordinated by representatives of the University of Applied Sciences
Magdeburg-Stendal, Professors Wolf Bloemers, Fritz Wisch, Jürgen Wolf (Germany). The
event was also attended by Professors David Rodrigues (University of Lisbon), Professors of
the University of Porto Antonio Magalhaes and Fernanda Rodrigues (Portugal), scientist
Ase-Britt Falch and Professor Bengt Eriksson (Sweden), Professor Ion Dafinoiu (Iasi,
Romania). Ukraine was represented at the meeting by Associate Professor Svitlana
Pashchenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), Associate Professor Lyudmila
Romanenkova (ZOGO "Florence") and a representative of ZNU - Deputy Dean for
International Affairs of the SPP Faculty, Associate Professor of Psychology, Natalia
Mosol .
During the meeting, the international team of scientists discussed various aspects of the topic -
the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine on the socio-economic situation in the
country, on professional activities and personal life, the importance of psychological support.
Teachers from different countries also shared the experience of distance learning and
identified its potential and certain shortcomings. Among the "disadvantages" of distance
learning only identified the lack of live communication between teachers and students, which
has no technical limitations and provides opportunities for personal interaction. The event was
informative and emotionally rich.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed potential opportunities for further
international cooperation.
