A new project is like a new book - once you open the first pages, you get overwhelmed by the new experiences and bright impressions.
Erasmus+ project “Developing Reading Skills With and Through Digital Technologies” (eRead) started with an inspiring and productive kick-off meeting at hospitable Narva College of the University of Tartu.

The project brought together educational establishments of Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia and Ukraine united by the desire to equip future and current language teachers with the most innovative digital tools for improving their students’ reading skills. The meeting marked the official launch of the project. As it was the first face-to-face project meeting, the participants introduced their teams, shared their experience in international work, and reviewed how teaching national languages is organised in their countries, with a special focus on the role of digital technologies. The reports generated a lively discussion of the main achievements of each educational system, current challenges and ways to cope with them.

Project management was in the centre of further discussion. The participants considered the key ideas, expectations and deliverables of the project, specified various aspects of the project implementation and reporting. The partners also elaborated the main project tasks (creating BA module “Teaching Reading Digitally”, professional development course “Teaching Reading Digitally”, e-course Reading Skills B1) and touched upon the nearest plans and future cooperation strategies.

Besides, the participants got acquainted with Narva College, found out about their mission and vision in international work and cooperation, and thanked the hosts for their warm welcome.

So, the partners are now ready to open this new chapter together! Welcome to eRead – a learner-friendly way to perfect your reading skills!
